Dear "All the Staff at Keringa!"
I just wanted to let all the caring and loving people at Keringa know that all 4 of our animals are at home with us in Canberra now. We collected them on the Monday 12 May 2008. It was a very long emotional day for all of us, but also a massive relief!
We want to thank Colin and Gent, and I am sure many other very dedicated staff, for the love and kindness they gave to our pets. By the time we flew out on 14 Jan 2008, we knew for sure that our babies were in good hands at Keringa. We visited them in Sydney the day after they arrived there and saw that they were healthy and well. The last month was the hardest month to get through because we had seen the quarantine station in Sydney and kept comparing it to the Keringa environment. I would highly recommend that any other people thinking about putting their animals through quarantine, to do the maximum time at Keringa – there is no doubt about that! We really wished that the Eastern Creek quarantine station could be more like Keringa. You at Keringa have the best facilities and staff for caring for quarantine animals.
My mom said that whenever she phoned in to check on the "babies", she would enjoy the updates and her chats with Gent. She was also so impressed with Colin and the kennels when she visited with us. We really appreciated having access to our animals for long visits and for Colin and Gent always being available for a chat or an update over the phone. It made a huge difference knowing we could contact someone when ever we needed some feedback on our pets.
We have installed a doggie door at home and the cats were let out for the first time this weekend, they did not wander off too far and have learned how to hop through the doggie door too!. All of them are extra loving, but other than that, this experience has not altered their personalities at all! Our house now feels like a home and this past week has been the most settled we have felt in the past 4 months.
Thank you, thank you for the family orientated and understanding approach to the quarantine and for the time you spent with Emma, Kenny, Alex and Georgie du Toit !!
With much love, we will all be forever grateful for your service.
Louise and Hugo
