Good day to all!
I just wanted to express my heartfelt thanks for all the assistance with transporting my cat BB from Durban to Vancouver, Canada in May of this year! I originally tried to organize it on my own - but found it difficult, almost impossible. Even when contacting various transport agenceis, I found they had conflicting vet and state requirements (some saying microchip was mandatory, quarantine for exportation was mandatory, different carrier requirements for the same airline KLM, etc).
As soon as I got in touch with Marlene via the phone, things just seemed to automatically feel better, she was very reassuring. Never the less, there was the constant nagging concern that maybe not everything was just right, maybe I forgot to do something, maybe he wouldn't be accepted by the airline, state vet, etc. But as soon as I met with Yvette (when I went in to finalize the payment), I felt much better again. Yvette is very pleasant, confident, and accommodating to nervous (occassionally neurotic - haha) pet owners. Little things like forms, labels, zip ties, absorbent mat for the carrier, non spill water bowls, a funnel, etc .....she happily took care of. And as soon as I dropped him off with her at the airport, I knew he was in good hands.
Your organizations do a great job in preparing the owners, ensuring the best for the animals, following up on the day of travel and making dropping off and picking up of the pets easy and smooth (thanks for the info and directions for the pick up in Vancouver Tanya).
Everything went smoothly on all sides and he has adapted very well to his new home. I couldn't have asked for anything more (other than better travel arrangements for myself - hehe).
Thanks again Yvette, Marlene, Tanya, and all others involved.
Regards
Sara
