NEWSFLASH: 2000TH PET LEAVES FOR AUSTRALIA!
Keringa Emigration Station (the first Australian Government approved pre-export quarantine kennel in Africa) was established in early 1996, on our initiative and representation to government, for the emigration of dogs and cats accompanying their owners to Australia.
In the ten years to-date we have handled well over 1500 (and counting) pets and are the discerning pet lovers' only professional choice. We are recommended by both the Australian Government (AQIS) and the New Zealand Government (MAF), as well as the South African Department of Agriculture which inspects and licences us.
Australia
YPets going to Oz spend 6 months in our beautiful kennels, being visited by you daily, if you wish, and being taken care of by our team of pet professionals, including our own resident veterinarian ; (the only place of this nature with this facility.) They then fly directly to Australia for the last month , before becoming Australian "citizens". You may also visit them here. New Zealand
Pets going to New Zealand have two choices - contact us for details.
Why take your pets with you?
Families with children would be well advised to consider this: you're taking your children away from their friends, school, family home and sports… try to avoid taking their pets away from them too, in order to smooth translocation.
Family Members
In many families, their cats and dogs are more than pets: they are integral members of a close-knit family. They have given you years of love, companionship and protection. Do you really know what will happen to them if you leave them behind? It's usually better to keep your whole family together when you move.
D-Day
D -Day (for departure day), when our quarantine friends, both dogs and cats, leave for Australia and New Zealand.
In the photograph, 8 pets are being loaded for departure under the supervision of a government official (far left).
Second from left is our Transport Manager, who will drive the pets to the airport and hand them over to the airline.
The Manager of the quarantine division checks the documentation.
On the right our Kennel Manager, giving a last hug to "Scrumpy" Coombs before placing him inside his deluxe, bespoke travel kennel.
After spending time with us, we have come to know and love them. It is therefore sad for our staff to see them go - even after more than 1500 departures
These people form part of a dedicated team of animal lovers who will speed your pet on his way to a new life in the Antipodes - and lots of fun chasing Koala Bears.
